TUESDAY TALES, SHORT STORIES FROM 14 WRITERS IN 300 WORDS TO A PICTURE PROMPT

Hello and welcome! This week we are all writing to a picture prompt. This truck is the picture. Click on the name of the writer to go to their blog to read their story. Thank you for coming!

JEAN JOACHIM (Contemporary Romance)
"The Magic of Love"
“Don’t drop that!”
Kincade Ransom guarded his magic trunk jealously.
DAWNE PROCHILO (Historic Western Romance)
Cody resolved to climbing into his empty bed, all the while thinking of Lydia sleeping a mere ten-feet from him; his bedroom, adjacent to where Lydia slumbered in Bethany’s old room.
SHERRY GLOAG (General Fiction)
A single beam of sunlight from the attic window shone on the chest.  She’d thought it was a legend. Not real, and yet there it sat right in front of her in the middle of the attic room.
Pia pulled the old wooden chest out from the storage area under the cellar steps.  She dragged the old treasure chest into the middle of the room, knelt down and pushed the heavy top up.
CATHY GREENFEDER (YA, Paranormal Romance)
“Blackbeard’s treasure?” Jake asked. They stepped past a brass trimmed mahogany chest. "His pirates buried their booty in trenches along the Jersey shore."
MICHAEL CHARTON (Philosophy)
What’s in a trunk?  The Marx Brothers hiding on a ship?
LEE ANN SONTHEIMER MURPHY (Historical Romance)
As Katie waited, she considered climbing out of the window but it wouldn’t be very ladylike and would be certain to draw more trouble.  So she folded her hands in her lap and stared at her trunk, brown and sturdy.
LINDSAY DOWNS (Sensual Suspense)
With an icy coolness, from years of training, through night vision binoculars Jessica scanned the darkened windows of the chateau. All she had to go on was a description of one item in the room where their friends were being held hostage.
LINNA DREHMEL (Sci Fi)
"Cracked"
Crillly was happy with his human existence for the most part. He enjoyed the life of a musician. Music was the universal language after all.
"The Trunk"
May wadded another tissue and tucked in her jeans pocket. What a day. What a long six months. The attic was the only place she could go and have a good cry.
"I’m the oldest twelve year old you will ever meet. I suppose you could attribute it to the fact I have two older brothers, and my family friends have usually been older than me."
“No, no, noooo” my grandfather had warned me so many times as a young child.  “Do not open Grand papa’s chest.  It holds the treasure closet to my heart.”
STEFAN ELLERY (Sci Fi)
Knock Knock, came the hollow sound from within the trunk.
MORGEN BAILEY (Romance)
Watching the policeman in her rear view mirror, Rosie clicked the button to release the central locking and got out the car.
“Surprised you got here at all,” he said softly, kicking her flat tyre.
